Complex Trauma
What is Complex Trauma?
Complex trauma is also called as Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). It arises from prolonged or repeated trauma, particularly in situations where escape isn’t possible. Unlike PTSD, which is often tied to a single event, CPTSD involves broader impacts, including difficulties with emotional regulation, a negative self-concept, and strained relationships. Additionally, while PTSD involves a life-threatening event, complex trauma might not meet that threshold but can still profoundly affect someone.
