Anxiety

"I just want to stop feeling so anxious all the time!"

Throughout the years of working with countless anxious clients who overthink in various situations over various topics, this is one universal statement I hear clients say all the time. I hear you--anxiety is one of those debilitating and frustrating experiences that does not add more value to your life. However, identifying "stop feeling so anxious" as a goal does not help, either--it's an emotional goal that is out of a person's control in most challenging situations. In the end of the day, we only have control over how we act, not how we feel or what thoughts might run through our minds. Together, I will help you understand how anxiety works and also utilize more effective tools to manage and de-fuse your anxious thoughts through an evidence-based treatment modality called ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). ACT therapy (pronounced as 'act'), just like what the acronym suggests, is an action-oriented therapy modality that is unique in its creative metaphors and plentiful hands-on exercises that clients can pick and choose depending on their likes, such as The Choice Point, Dropping Anchor, Cognitive Defusion, etc. Individuals who wish to become more self-aware and are motivated to seek positive behavioral changes find this approach very effective.

Other Symptoms that ACT treats:

  • Depression

  • High Stress & Burnout

  • Loneliness

  • Life transitions (moving, breakup, career change, etc.)

  • Avoidant or addictive behaviors
